The 18-meter-tall ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam from Gundam SeeD statue erected outside the newly opened Mitsui Shopping Park Lalaport Jinqiao in Shanghai. And since 28 May 2021 open for public viewing.
This life-size gundam statue is the first of its kind to be put up outside of Japan.

The statue was produced by Japanese animation creator Sunrise Inc. and other companies. Similar statues are also in Tokyo's Daiba waterfront area and Yokohama.

Designed by legendary designer Kunio Okawara, the full-scale Freedom Gundam statue will also have large wings on its back. The tip of the blade is equipped with a new landing gear for landing.

The Shanghai Gundam statue's face and hands are designed to move in response to animation and music displayed on a large monitor. It will be activated daily for a few minutes every hour.
